Amir Hamzah Park to Have 100 Biopori Holes

As flood anticipation, the Amir Hamzah Park, Pegangsaan, Menteng, will be drilled to make 100 small absorption holes, or locally known as biopori. Considering, the area is always flooded during rainy season. 

We have 7 drillign equipments. While for park's width is around 10 meters

Pegangsaan Urban Village Head, Asep said the drilling in Amir Hamzah Park is a program of Menteng Sub-District that requires every urban village to have such holes. 

"We have 7 drillign equipments. While for park's width is around 10 meters," he told, Sunday (3/15).

Eventually, the drilling would also involve local citizens and youth organization. "If the holes are a lot, the ground could absorb water in large quantities. Thus flood can be anticipated," he disclosed.
